COLLEGE HISTORY

Located in southern part of Haryana The land of Vedas Dronacharya govt. College was established in May 1951 by the stupendous efforts of GoswamiGanesh Dutt, a renowned leader of ‘SanatanDharam’ alongwiththe other educationists and philanthropists, to serve the noble cause of imparting higher education to the knowledge- seekers. Erstwhile known as, “Hindu College Gujranwala” it was serving the purpose of Higher education in Guranwalaregion in pre partiotioned Punjab.

                Standing at the historical  site of Gurgaon a city associated with the legendaryfigure Guru Dronacharya; who gave the world the best archer, Arjuna, and some supreme religious Master Yudishistra, this college has been consistently providing  knowledge for the last three decades by the name of ‘Dronacharya Sana tanDharma College ‘. It was taken over by the Haryana Govt. on January 14, 1980 and came to be known as ‘Dronacharya Govt.College’.

                This historical institution has had the singular distinction of having invited and honored the renowned national and international illumanaries like Bharat
Ratan Awardee, Dr.RajenderPrasad, a peace loving ,Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, , Lady Mountbatten, Field  Marshall K.M.Kariappa  and Smt. Vijay Lakshmi Pandit(at one  time  or the other).

                It Was Awarded B+ grade by the peer team of national assessment and accreditation council (NAAC), Banglore for its excellence in quality education, Proficiency of the faculty, Discipline among student and college administration. As a result this institution stands as an epitome in the field of education among other well renowned institution.

B) College have Distance Education centre of MDUand offers following Courses:-

Post graduate Courses :M.Com, Pol.Science, Hindi, Economics and Englishalongwith Degree in B.A and B.Com

C) College also has a study Centreof IGNOU and offer Courses in MBA,M.COM,BBA,PGDCA,BCA and M.A.English.

Twenty two students from our college have been selected during campus Selection from Bio-Technology and B.Sc (Medical) Courses.
